What is DNS and how it works?
DNS(DOMAIN NAME SYSTEM):
DNS is known as domain name system. Domain name system resolve the name into ip and ip to name vise versa. It provide human readable website addresses which we can use every day. For example “google.com”. whenever you visit on google with the help of address bar behind the scene it converts name to ip address on the internet. If you typed the number into address bar you also come to google website.
We use the google.com instead of ip address because ip address like google.com are more easy to remember. Domain name system just resolve the domain name to ip address. when you typed the google.com into your browser address bar first it contact with DNS server and it ask for the ip address associated with the google.com.
Behind the scene, when you typed the google.com into web browser first it goes to ISP, your computer is likely using your router as a DNS server but router forwarding the request to your internet service provider’s DNS servers.
Now computer cache DNS responses. So the DNS request doesn’t happen each time you connect to google.com.once computer determined the ip address associated with a domain name it will remember the period of time.this improves the connection by skipping dns request phase.
